Expect the unexpected - What you didn't know about Score: A Hockey Musical!

OVERVIEW

When two Cinémagique members pronounced their non-attendance at the Monday night screening of Score: A Hockey Musical, because they thought Score was just another Canadian hockey movie (ugh!), I thought, Oooops did I screwup!! Big-time. Of course, I was not helped out by Score’s dorky poster, nor Score’s schmucky trailer, both on our website. Whatever! So my apologies, if any of the material led you astray. Here’s what I never mentioned:

OVERVIEW

“Just like sudden-death overtime, everyone figured Michael McGowan (One Week) was courting either smashing success or epic failure with a hockey-themed musical. Fortunately it's door No. 1 for this TIFF Gala opener, proving doubters wrong with an amusing, tuneful tale of a puck star named Farley...He shoots, but does he score? OVERVIEW

“Michael McGowan's melodious ode to one of Canada's favourite pastimes is truly entertaining, and at times, delightful. Laden with well-placed cameos, even the campy moments reminiscent of classic musicals don't disappoint. I'm betting the final production number will have audiences everywhere singing what is sure to become hockey's new anthem.”
